Denver’s Premier Platform for Independent TV Storytelling
Often referred to as the “Sundance of television“, SeriesFest returns to Denver for its 10th edition, celebrating the art of independent television series creation. This event provides a platform for emerging and seasoned creators to debut their pilots to audiences that include both industry experts and enthusiasts. It offers numerous opportunities throughout the year for creators to network, collaborate, and share stories that have a global impact.
Now in its 10th year, the nonprofit festival attracts over 12,000 attendees annually and operates with a budget of $2.7 million. This milestone anniversary celebration will primarily take place at the Sie FilmCenter and will feature a star-studded lineup. The inaugural gala will honor actress Minnie Driver, SAG-AFTRA, and Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of “Grey’s Anatomy.” Special appearances will include James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone, and Kim Raver.
The festival encompasses a variety of activities, such as professional development workshops, mentorship programs, and showcases at venues like the Sie FilmCenter and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It emphasizes diversity and inclusivity, promoting content that reflects the perspectives and experiences of diverse global communities.
Season 10 features an expanded schedule with notable participants including Daymond John, Linda Powell, and Shari Belafonte, and special screenings from platforms like Apple TV+ and Peacock. Mark Duplass will receive the ‘Excellence in Acting’ Award, recognizing his significant contributions to film and television, highlighted by his roles in “The Morning Show” and “Togetherness.”
This season’s lineup includes discussions with industry leaders, panels featuring SAG-AFTRA executives, and international screenings that showcase global narratives. A standout event, the “Cowboy Carter” Dance Party at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Grammy-winning DJ Young Guru, will close the festival.
