American Film Market 2026 | November 10–15, 2026, Los Angeles

Italy returns to Los Angeles for the 47th edition of the American Film Market (AFM), taking place November 10–15, 2026, with a delegation of 13 companies and one film commission representing the diversity of the country’s audiovisual industry. Coordinated by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in collaboration with the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Italian Ministry of Culture and Cinecittà, Italy’s participation aims to strengthen international business relationships and create new opportunities for production, distribution, and co-production.

The market will once again be headquartered at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, bringing together producers, distributors, international sales agents, financiers, and industry professionals from around the world. Under the theme The New Global Screen Economy, the 2026 edition will explore the evolution of financing and distribution models, the role of emerging technologies, and the changing landscape of international partnerships.

Italy’s participation comes at a significant moment for its domestic theatrical market. According to Cinetel data, Italian box office revenue reached €496.6 million in 2025, up 0.5% from 2024, while admissions declined 2% to 68.4 million. Italian productions accounted for 32.7% of total box office revenue, their highest market share since 2016, at a time when several major European markets experienced declines.

The delegation reflects the diversity of Italy’s audiovisual industry. Filmexport Group, LSPG Popcorn, Minerva Pictures / Digital United Studios, and Rai Cinema represent the international sales, distribution, and content licensing sectors, while Cinecittà combines international sales activities with its renowned studio facilities and production expertise. On the production and original content development side, Calamazù, F4 Film, Fargo Film, OMDT, and Marte Studios bring a range of original projects, development strategies, and international production capabilities. Movimenti Production, part of Banijay Kids & Family, highlights Italy’s strength in animation and family entertainment.

Italy’s technical expertise and production services will also be represented by EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani, specializing in visual effects, post-production, and AI technologies integrated into production workflows, and Dude Service, which provides executive production and on-the-ground support for international productions filming in Italy.

The delegation also includes Genova Liguria Film Commission, which will promote Liguria’s filming locations and production opportunities, helping strengthen relationships with international producers.

Italy’s presence at AFM offers an opportunity to showcase not only the country’s creative talent and audiovisual content, but also its competitive production ecosystem, supported by national tax incentives, regional film funds, skilled professionals, and infrastructure capable of meeting the needs of international productions.

Industry professionals interested in connecting with the Italian delegation are invited to explore the official ITALIA@AFM 2026 catalog and meet the participating companies during the market.
