MIA | International Audiovisual Market (Rome, October 6–10, 2025)

From October 6 to 10, 2025, Rome will host the 11th edition of MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo, reaffirming its position as one of the leading global gatherings for audiovisual professionals. Organized by ANICA (National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Digital Industries) and APA (Audiovisual Producers Association), and directed by Gaia Tridente, MIA stands out as Europe’s only audiovisual market not tied to a festival and open to all formats and genres – film, drama, documentary, and animation.

The event’s international reach is evident in the figures: more than 2,800 accredited participants in 2024 (+10% year-on-year) and around 500 projects submitted from 81 countries for the 2025 edition. Among them, 62 will be presented in the Co-Production Market & Pitching Forum across film, drama, doc, and animation, making Rome a creative and business hub at the center of global industry exchange.

MIA has established itself as a curated B2B platform designed to foster co-production and encourage networking among producers, broadcasters, distributors, investors, and institutions. Beyond market screenings and showcases, the 2025 program features several new initiatives focused on innovation and training. Apollo Series – developed in partnership with Series Mania Institute and Göteborg Film Festival/TV Drama Vision – will provide emerging European producers with a tailored training pathway. The Book Adaptation Forum will connect the publishing and screen sectors, while the Vertical AI workshops, led by Largo.ai with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA, will explore artificial intelligence applications in content creation, marketing, and distribution.

The program also includes the MIA XR Showcase, dedicated to immersive technologies, and the Industry Insider Bootcamp, organized with United Talent Agency, offering accredited participants a rare opportunity to engage with Hollywood experts. Through these initiatives, MIA 2025 not only consolidates its role as Europe’s most inclusive audiovisual market, but also strengthens its mission as a strategic hub where new stories and talents can meet the opportunities of the global industry.

MIA is organized by ANICA (National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Digital Industries) and APA (Audiovisual Producers Association), with the support of the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual (DGCA) of the Italian Ministry of Culture and ITA – Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Regione Lazio.
