Italy to Bring a Strong Delegation at the American Film Market 2025
Italy returns to Los Angeles for the 46th edition of the American Film Market (AFM), bringing a vibrant delegation of producers, distributors, international sales agents, and institutional representatives. Coordinated by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in collaboration with the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Italian Ministry of Culture and Cinecittà, this year’s participation underscores Italy’s growing role as a global partner for the entertainment industry.
This year also marks a new chapter for AFM: for the first time, the market will be hosted at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, offering a prestigious and dynamic setting that enhances networking opportunities and the overall experience.
“Our delegation embodies the creativity, professionalism, and international outlook of Italy’s audiovisual sector. With a dynamic mix of companies and institutions, we are here to build bridges and foster new collaborations with partners worldwide,” said Giosafat Rigano, Director of the Italian Trade Agency in Los Angeles.
The 2025 Italian delegation includes 14 companies spanning production, distribution, sales, and production services. Among them are leading producers such as Animoka Studios, known worldwide for Pat the Dog; Fargo Film, a Turin-based company with decades of experience in commercials and feature films; Mestiere Cinema, established in Venice and a trusted partner of major Hollywood studios; and Viola Film, specializing in high-quality international co-productions. Sales agents such as Filmexport Group, Italy’s oldest world sales company, and Minerva Pictures, with a legacy of over seventy years, represent a diverse catalog of films and series for the global market. Newer players like PiperPlay bring fresh strategies in distribution, while LSGP Italia and K+ embody innovative approaches to international production and sales.
Also part of the delegation are Augustus Color, a leader in post-production and restoration, and Zena Film, a Sardinian company specializing in animation and documentaries. The delegation further includes APE – the Association of Italian Production Service Companies, and the Veneto Film Commission, representing one of Italy’s most versatile regions for location shooting.
The AFM comes at a time of strong momentum for the Italian film industry. According to the 2025 ANICA report, 400 feature films were completed in Italy in 2024, a 59% increase compared to 2020, with production spending exceeding €800 million. Tax credits and regional funds continue to play a crucial role, making Italy a competitive and attractive hub for international co-productions.
If you are interested in connecting with the Italian delegation, be sure to explore the catalog and attend our panel “Focus on Italy: A Strategic Hub for International Productions ”, scheduled for Wednesday, November 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Constellation Stage in The Fairmont Century Plaza. The discussion will highlight national incentives for co-productions and foreign films shooting in Italy, opportunities for the international distribution of Italian works, the role of film commissions with their regional funds and on-the-ground services, and the unique production resources offered by Cinecittà Studios.
The initiative is promoted by the Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with Cinecittà and the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Italian Ministry of Culture (DGCA-MiC).
