Filming Italy Los Angeles Festival
Created and organized by Tiziana Rocca, Agnus Dei and the Italian Cultural Institute Los Angeles, Filming Italy – Los Angeles in addition to promoting Italy as a filming location and a bridge between Italian and American culture, supports Italian cultural growth through its cinema, the internationalization of Italian audiovisual products, and supports intercultural relations among various directors, producers and artists.
One of the guests of honor in this edition will be Giancarlo Giannini.
The great actor, pride of Italian Cinema in the world, will be presented with the Filming Italy Achievement Award on the evening of March 3rd, while on March 6th, the ceremony of the laying of the Star dedicated to him – the 16th Italian one – on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will take place.
This year the Festival will offer an even richer program, with Italian and international guests, setting the goal of enhancing the cinema of our country: more than 60 titles will be on the program, including films, TV series, unpublished and unreleased docufilms, short films, as well as numerous masterclasses and an institutional panel involving leading figures from the national cultural and film sector.
The Italian Trade Agency – Los Angeles Office is sponsoring the Industry Panel “Women in Entertainment: how far have we gotten?” The panel discussion will center on women empowerment and gender equality on screen and off screen in the industry, with a welcome greeting by Italian Trade Agency – Los Angeles Office Trade Commissioner Alessandra Rainaldi, moderator Tiziana Rocca, General Director of Filming Italy Los Angeles, and panelists: Lucia Gervino (Head of Production A&E networks) Sandra Stern (Vice Chairman Lionsgate Television Group), Chiara Tilesi (We do it together), Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing, Leonardo, Across the river and into the trees), and Greta Scarano (The perfect dinner, Suburra).
The panel will be held on March 1st, 2023, at 6:30 pm, at the Harmony Gold Theatre (7655 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046).
Tiziana Rocca, who is also the Festival’s Artistic Director, said, “I am very happy to announce this new edition of Filming Italy – Los Angeles, which for the eighth consecutive year confirms itself as a very important event for the enhancement of our cinema abroad.”
