Brendan Fraser is Actor of The Year at 21st Annual “Ischia Global Film & Music Festival”
Brendan Fraser named “Global Actor of the Year” at the 21st Annual “Ischia Global Film & Music Festival” starting on July 9th, ending July 16th.
The Festival traditionally brings cinema, music, and entertainment stars to the Gulf of Naples. The event, founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, is presided over this year by the Award-winning Irish director Jim Sheridan, alongside the iconic figures Trudie Styler and Tony Renis.
Brendan Fraser, the Oscar winner for Best Leading Actor in Darren Aronofsky’s film The Whale, will receive a prestigious honor on Saturday, July 15th. This well-deserved recognition will be shared with director Rob Marshall and songwriter Diane Warren.
“We are proud to welcome to Ischia a great artist and a man who symbolizes rebirth and redemption like Brendan Fraser,” Vicedomini announced. Brendan Fraser is an artist who has already become part of the history of popular cinema with the blockbusters The Mummy (1999), The Mummy – The Return (2001), and The Mummy – The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008).
He is the star of The Whale – the remarkable drama that has taken the world by storm since its premiere at the prestigious Venice Film Festival in 2022. At the center of the movie is Fraser, who delivers a truly extraordinary performance as a 250-kilo professor. His talent and dedication have earned him a well-deserved Academy Award, as well as raving reviews and standing ovations from audiences worldwide.
Hollywood is returning to Green Island with the arrival of over 120 stars and 200 titles, with free admission to the public, including premieres and special screenings. The Festival can be followed online thanks to the platforms Mymovies.it and Eventive.org. Masterclasses with the stars, attended by young actors, will be organized by coach Bernard Hiller.
