Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion & Art Festival 2026 (March 8–14, 2026)

The 21st edition of Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion & Art Festival will take place in Hollywood from March 8 to 14, 2026, with screenings and events hosted at the TCL Chinese Theatres – Screen 1, reaffirming its role as one of the most established international platforms dedicated to the promotion of Italian cinema in the United States.

Organized in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles and the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, and supported by ITA – Italian Trade Agency, the festival continues to strengthen the international positioning of Italian audiovisual excellence and creative industries across the U.S. market.

The 2026 edition will open with a special tribute to Academy Award winner Anna Magnani — who in 1956 became the first Italian actress to win the Oscar for Best Actress for The Rose Tattoo — including the U.S. premiere of Anna, written, directed and performed by Monica Guerritore. The festival will also honor maestro Bernardo Bertolucci on the 50th anniversary of his cinematic masterpiece Novecento, starring Robert De Niro and Gérard Depardieu.

The program presents a rich selection of contemporary Italian films, alongside special events and international premieres. The festival will close with Two Billion Hearts, the documentary narrated by Liev Schreiber on the FIFA World Cup, anticipating the 2026 tournament set to take place across the United States, Canada and Mexico this June.

This year’s edition also celebrates the 30th anniversary of Rainbow, the animation studio founded in 1995 by Iginio Straffi and now one of Europe’s leading players in children’s and family entertainment. Over three decades, Rainbow has distributed its content in more than 150 countries worldwide. Among its most iconic productions is Winx Club, launched in 2004 and developed into a global franchise that celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024, continuing to represent a benchmark in the international success of Italian animation.

The program will also include a documentary dedicated to Tony Renis, celebrating his artistic journey between Rome and Hollywood and his longstanding contribution to the international music and film industries, further underscoring the historic ties between Italy and the U.S. entertainment landscape.

A central new initiative of the 2026 edition is Healthy Food, Happy Life, a project exploring the connection between Italian lifestyle, wellbeing and cultural identity. The initiative follows the recent recognition of Italian cuisine as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, acknowledging it as a living cultural practice rooted in the valorization of raw materials, respect for seasonality, sustainability and the central role of conviviality. This heritage continues to evolve through intergenerational knowledge and the richness of regional traditions.

Within this framework, the festival will host a special screening of Fasting and the Longevity Revolution on March 11 at 7:00 PM at the TCL Chinese Theatres – Screen 1. The documentary is directed by Barry Alexander Brown, narrated by Edward Norton and produced by Chiara Tilesi. Inspired by the scientific research and publications of Dr. Valter Longo, the film explores the relationship between nutrition, fasting and healthy aging through evidence-based research and global case studies.

Following the screening, Edward Norton will join director Barry Alexander Brown, Dr. Valter Longo — internationally recognized expert in nutrition and longevity — and producer Chiara Tilesi for a public discussion focused on prevention, the Mediterranean diet and the connection between conscious nutrition and quality of life. The initiative connects cinema, science and culinary heritage, reinforcing the broader narrative of Made in Italy excellence within an international cultural dialogue.

The 2026 program places contemporary Italian production at the center, combining commercial titles, auteur-driven projects and emerging voices. Recent features include Gennaro Nunziante’s Buen Camino; Riccardo Milani’s La vita va così, starring Virginia Raffaele and Diego Abatantuono; Gabriele Salvatores’ Napoli New York, with Pierfrancesco Favino; Elisa Amoruso’s Amata, featuring Miriam Leone; and Leonardo Di Costanzo’s Elisa, starring Barbara Ronchi and Valeria Golino, alongside works by Greta Scarano and Michela Andreozzi.

The Blockbusters & Coming Soon section will spotlight recently released or forthcoming titles, while We Are the Future will present debut and sophomore features by emerging filmmakers, including Daniele Barbiero’s Squali. In addition, approximately 100 selected titles will stream on Eventive.org throughout the festival as part of its digital program.

Chaired by producer Raffaella De Laurentiis, Los Angeles, Italia continues to operate as a strategic showcase supporting the international circulation of Italian audiovisual productions, fostering professional networking opportunities and strengthening cultural and industrial ties between Italy and Hollywood.
