Italian Director Luca Guadagnino To Be Honored At Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival
The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival has honored Italian director Luca Guadagnino with the “Excellence in Cinema (International)” award, recognizing his significant contributions to the global film industry.
Guadagnino’s distinctive storytelling and artistic vision, evident in films such as A Bigger Splash (2015), Call Me By Your Name (2017), Suspiria (2018), Bones and All (which earned him the Silver Lion for Best Director at the 2022 Venice Film Festival), and the documentary Salvatore: Shoemaker of Dreams (2020) chronicling the life and career of renowned Italian shoemaker Salvatore Ferragamo, were acknowledged.
The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is currently underway from October 27th to November 5th. As part of the festival, Guadagnino will conduct a masterclass in Mumbai, offering valuable insights into his creative process for aspiring filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts in attendance.
