TUDUM 2025: Netflix’s First Live Global Fan Event Broadcast from the U.S.
For the first time, Netflix streamed its global fan event TUDUM live from the U.S.A., broadcasting directly from the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles, transforming what was once an occasional in-person gathering into a full-scale entertainment show. Named after the sound that plays before a Netflix program begins (“tuh-dum”), TUDUM is both a celebration of fandom and a global marketing platform.
But this wasn’t about releasing new episodes of Stranger Things, Squid Game, or Wednesday. Instead, fans tuned in for exclusive previews, surprise appearances, and cast reunions — all wrapped in a sleek variety format that blends marketing and entertainment.
The event marks yet another move in Netflix’s steady expansion into live programming. Over the past year, the company has drawn massive viewership for events like the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, NFL games on Christmas Day, and the Tom Brady roast — with more to come, including a high-profile rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano this July at Madison Square Garden.
TUDUM had already been staged in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2020 (drawing 50,000 attendees over four days) and again in 2023 (with 35,000 in attendance). The 2023 edition generated more than 78 million views across social media platforms, including YouTube livestreaming. This new TUDUM in Los Angeles, however, was streamed directly on Netflix itself. What set it apart was the streaming giant’s strategic use of its growing live capabilities, partnering with Silent House Productions — a team already behind the SAG Awards and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film.
A blend of awards-show glamour and pop spectacle, the TUDUM experience turned fandom into a live show and a global marketing campaign rolled into one — a testing ground for future live events. Focusing on Netflix’s most popular series (Squid Game, Stranger Things, and Wednesday), the show thrilled fans with sneak peeks and release dates for upcoming seasons. It also revealed that the final season of Stranger Things will be released in three volumes: on November 26, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.
The night closed with a gothic-inspired performance by Lady Gaga, who sang a medley of “Abracadabra,” “Zombieboy,” and “Bloody Mary,” incorporating visual elements drawn from the Wednesday universe. Gaga will also appear in a cameo role in the second half of the show’s upcoming season.
