Pumaisdue Represents Italian Excellence in Audiovisual Localization
The Italian dubbing studio Pumaisdue has received two nominations at the 2025 EGA Awards , the event promoted by the Entertainment Globalization Association that celebrates outstanding achievements in audiovisual localization.
The EGA Awards were created to recognize the work of the professionals who adapt films and series for international audiences—voice actors, dubbing directors, translators, subtitlers, lyricists and more—whose work ensures that stories can cross linguistic and cultural borders while preserving their emotional impact.
Pumaisdue, based in Rome, was founded in 1980 by renowned dubbing director and dialogue writer Renato Izzo, and is now led by his daughter Fiamma Izzo. With over four decades of experience, the studio has become a reference point in the Italian dubbing scene, known for its collaborations with major international studios and platforms and for its ability to handle a wide range of genres, from animation to drama and musical productions.
This year, the studio was nominated in two categories:
- Best Localized Song for the Italian version of “The Show Must Go On”, from the animated series Hazbin Hotel, produced by Amazon MGM Studios. The Italian adaptation and dubbing direction of the series were overseen by Oreste Baldini
- Best Overall Dubbing for an Animation, for the Italian version of the episode “Reunion” from Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, produced by DreamWorks Animation for Netflix. This nomination recognizes the overall quality of the dubbing work, from casting to voice performance and adaptation.
Fiamma Izzo, CEO of Pumaisdue, and Oreste Baldini, one of Italy’s most respected voice actors and dubbing directors, attended the ceremony in Los Angeles, representing the studio.
The nominations marked an important international recognition of Italian dubbing excellence and underlined the central role of localization in making global content accessible and culturally relevant for local audiences.
