Celebrating the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture, South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual event held in Austin, Texas, since 1987. The 2025 edition will take place from March 7 to 15, offering a dynamic platform for creatives, innovators, and industry professionals to exchange ideas, showcase new projects, and network.

The SXSW Film & TV Festival 2025 will open with the world premiere of “Another Simple Favor,” the sequel to the 2018 dark comedy directed by Paul Feig, starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. In addition, the festival will feature the debut of the comedy series “The Studio,” created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, premiering on Apple TV+ on March 26. The series stars Rogen as Matt Remick, the new head of a struggling movie studio, alongside Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders.

Other notable films in the lineup include “The Accountant 2” with Ben Affleck, “Death of a Unicorn” featuring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, “Holland,” a Michigan-set thriller starring Nicole Kidman, “Ash,” a sci-fi film directed by Flying Lotus with Eiza González and Aaron Paul, and “Drop,” a Blumhouse-produced thriller centered on a woman tormented by an anonymous caller.

SXSW is celebrated for its genre diversity, with a strong focus on comedies, horror films, and thrillers. Beyond film screenings, the event hosts a range of activities, including interactive exhibitions, music showcases, and tech conferences.

The conference segment features thought-provoking sessions led by industry trailblazers, covering tracks such as artificial intelligence, climate change, health & medtech, startups, and media industry trends. Highlights include “The Trailblazers Behind the Tracks,” where influential speakers share insights on driving change in their fields, fostering innovation, and redefining the future.

Keynotes and Notable Speakers: Featured speakers will include Arvind Krishna (CEO of IBM), Lidiane Jones (CEO of Bumble), Amy Gallo (author), and Patricia Chin (founder of VP Records).
