Filming Italy – Los Angeles 2025 Celebrates Its 10th Edition, Strengthening the Italy-U.S. Creative Bridge

The 10th edition of Filming Italy Los Angeles is set to take place from February 19 to 22, 2025, in Los Angeles, marking a decade of cultural exchange and industry collaboration. Created and directed by Tiziana Rocca (Agnus Dei) in partnership with the Italian Institute of Culture in Los Angeles, and in collaboration with APA (Audiovisual Producers Association), ITA – Italian Trade Agency, and under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles, this event continues to champion Italian cinema on the global stage.

Over the years, Filming Italy Los Angeles has become an important platform for the promotion of Italian cinema, showcasing Italy as a premier filming destination. The festival program will feature exclusive premieres, restored classics, TV series, short films, and documentaries, as well as engaging panel discussions and masterclasses with distinguished guests from Italy and Hollywood.

Matteo Zoppas, President of ITA- Italian Trade Agency, emphasized the festival’s strategic role in elevating Italy’s audiovisual sector: “ITA is committed to enhancing Italian cinema as a vital tool for promoting ‘Made in Italy’ worldwide, strengthening cultural exports, and fostering new collaborations across international markets. The audiovisual industry is not only an economic driver but also a medium that showcases Italy’s artistic and creative identity. Filming Italy – Los Angeles is among the most significant showcases for our productions and talents, and ITA will continue to invest in initiatives that amplify the global reach of Italian cinema, linking it with international stakeholders and expanding opportunities for our industry.”

Among the highly anticipated guests of this edition: Gabriele Muccino, who will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Best Director Award and Alec Baldwin, who will be honored with the Filming Italy Achievement Award. The two artists will engage in an exclusive conversation with the audience during the opening night at the DGA Theater. The opening night will also feature Marco Perego, recipient of the Filming Italy Los Angeles Creativity Award for his Oscar-nominated short film, Dovecote. Perego will present the film alongside its lead actress, Zoe Saldaña, this year’s Golden Globe winner for Best Supporting Actress and an Oscar nominee in the same category.

Panel: “Italy-US Film and TV Co-Productions: Creative, Territorial, and Funding Opportunities”

As part of the Festival, the Italian Trade Agency – Los Angeles Office will host a special industry panel: “Italy-US Film and TV Co-Productions: Creative, Territorial, and Funding Opportunities”

The panel will feature two distinguished producers: Clayton Townsend (U.S.) and Enzo Sisti (Italy), both of whom have played key roles in major international productions. They will share their expertise on what makes Italy an ideal partner for Hollywood, exploring financial incentives, creative collaboration, and logistical advantages.

Beyond their past successes, the discussion will highlight emerging opportunities in Italy-U.S. co-productions, offering valuable insights into the future of cross-border filmmaking. Attendees will gain a well-rounded perspective on challenges, incentives, and evolving strategies that drive successful international partnerships. Journalist Lucia Magi (ANSA Newswire Service) will moderate.
