The 2024 edition of the American Film Market (AFM), the largest U.S. market dedicated to international cinema, will be held in Las Vegas for the first time after 44 years in Santa Monica.
In collaboration with the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual at the Italian Ministry of Culture and Cinecittà, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is proud to bring a delegation of 12 distinguished companies. This delegation includes leading producers, distributors, film commissions, and sales agents, all representing the excellence of the Italian entertainment industry.
The Italian entertainment industry has been recently experiencing a real Renaissance and has increased its competitiveness in terms of quality and execution. According to the 2024 ANICA (National Association of Cinema and Audiovisual Industries) report – 402 films were produced in Italy in 2023 (+13% on 2022), an increase on pre-pandemic numbers (+23,7% on 2019). 248 audiovisual works (for TV and internet) were produced in 2023, more than double the amount produced in 2019.The overall cost of Italian initiative audiovisual works produced in 2023 increased to €824M, almost €100M more than the previous year.

In addition to sales activities, AFM will feature a robust schedule of conferences, networking events, and industry insights. One of the highlights is the panel discussion, “Focus on Italy,” taking place on November 7th at 11:00 AM in the Palms Hotel Lounge, followed by a dedicated networking event. Organized by APE (Association of Italian Executive Producers), Cinecittà, and the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the ICE/ITA Agency, this panel will explore Italy’s expanding role in the global entertainment landscape.
