Arezzo Wave in LA brings the Italian excellence on the international stage of MusExpo 2024

The music convention based in Burbank and Hollywood hosted four of the most prominent young Italian talents

The Arezzo Wave Italia Foundation, established in 1987 with the aim of promoting independent music through the renowned Arezzo Wave Festival and other initiatives, facilitated the participation of four prominent Italian artists at the 23rd edition of MuseExpo 2024 in Los Angeles. This international event encompasses music, media, and technology conferences held in Burbank and at the Sir Studios in Hollywood, featuring roundtable discussions and concerts tailored for professionals in the American and international sectors. Covering diverse topics such as A&R, publishing, performance rights, AI, and distribution, MusExpo attracts participation from various international media companies including All Saints Music (China), APM Music, Arezzo Wave (Italy), Billboard, BMG, Capitol Music Group, Cyanite AI (Germany), Digital Music News, Disney Music Group, among others.

The impressive lineup of Italian talents gracing the MusExpo stage on March 17th and 18th included Piqued Jacks, finalists in the Eurovision 2023 representing San Marino; Frida Bollani Magoni, a young and gifted pianist and vocalist noted for her performance in front of President Sergio Mattarella on June 2nd, 2021; BigMama, a powerful rapper and songwriter recognized internationally, particularly following her recent participation to the Sanremo Festival and her appearance at the UN General Assembly addressing bullying and body shaming; and Fudasca, a renowned lo-fi producer, songwriter from Rome.

Mauro Valenti, president of the Arezzo Wave Foundation and creator of the festival, followed this initiative from the very beginning: “We were awarded the ‘Per Chi Crea’ tender by the Ministry of Culture and SIAE for the international promotion of Italian music. Recognizing the significance of establishing connections with major markets like the United States, our foundation is dedicated to promoting Italian music and supporting these artists in their international endeavors. Over these days, through this initiative, they are engaging with numerous American producers, and we sincerely believe this will propel their careers forward, similar to our past efforts with Italian singer Carmen Consoli, when we introduced her to the US market”. Valenti also expressed gratitude to the Italian institutions in the city for their support: the Consulate General, the Italian Cultural Institute, represented by its director Emanuele Amendola, and the Agency for Foreign Trade.

Alessandro Ghinelli, Mayor of the Tuscan municipality of Arezzo, traveled to Los Angeles in support of this delegation. “Our city’s twinning with Burbank since 2023 is a great honor for us, as we believe in the potential for fruitful collaborations between our ancient, picturesque town, with its Etruscan and medieval heritage, and the global media hub of Burbank. Arezzo offers an ideal location for various film and television productions. Let’s not forget that the Oscar winning movie La Vita è Bella was filmed in Arezzo. On the coming days, I will engage with Burbank’s mayor to explore avenues for future artistic and professional collaboration between our two cities. MusExpo and Arezzo Wave in LA serve as prime examples of how our cultural excellence can resonate with an international audience. This isn’t my first visit here, and my objective remains constant: to promote our city, our region, and our country”.

Furthermore, alongside the concerts and events, attendees were treated to a buffet featuring a selection of Tuscan food products.
