Netflix Games Will Be Tested On Different Devices

The company is rolling out a limited beta test on TVs and computers.

Netflix expands its video games offering to include TV sets, PCs, and Macs. A limited beta test will be conducted in Canada and the UK, allowing users to play games on their devices through Netflix.com. TV users can use their phones as controllers, while PC and Mac users can play using a keyboard and mouse.

So far, the company’s games titles have only been available on Apple’s iOS and Alphabet’s Android. “By making games available on more devices, we hope to make games even easier for our members around the world,” the company’s vice president of Games, Mike Verdu, wrote in a blog post.

Netflix said games on TV would operate on select devices from initial partners Amazon Fire TV Streaming Media Players, Chromecast with Google TV, and Roku devices, among others.

The company announced in March that it has a lineup of 40 upcoming games and 70 games in development with partners. This is in addition to the 16 games currently being developed in-house.
